Once all the work is done on your documents, booklets, leaflets or other type of documentation you need to be sure that there are no mistakes before publication, especially if it’s being printed.
Don’t just check the spelling
When we proof read a document we are looking for anything that isn’t right, that could be missing full stops, double spaces where they shouldn’t be, missing capitals and so the list goes on. Documents are always checked by someone who has not worked on the original document, just in case something was missed the first time!

During proofing we are not just looking for typographical errors, we are also looking for consistency of terminology and layout styles throughout the document, for example if an object is referred to as a “tractor” through the first half of a document and the reference suddenly changes to “agricultural vehicle” then that is something we would pick up on.
When the document has been checked the proof is sent to you for final approval, it will then be ready for printing or web publication.
